Employee of the Month (January 2010)

Sam's Club Recognizes Dedicated Reading Specialist from Street Johnson Global Studies
“Chaun Doak always has a smile on her face, no matter what type of day she is having at school,” said Guilford County Schools (GCS) Music Teacher Gregory Heath. Johnson Street Global Studies reading specialist Chaun Doak’s service doesn’t stop at just a smile.
Doak is not just one person doing one job; she wears multiple hats. Doak leaps at the chance to make sure Johnson Street Global Studies runs like a well-oiled machine. Most mornings, she begins her journey with bus duty. By the end of the day, she has helped numerous students and doesn’t hesitate to lend her help to projects that require extra hands.
“She is a wonderful soundboard,” said Heath, who nominated Doak for the recognition. Doak is always lending her smile and ears to coworkers and students who are experiencing a stressful day. With a calm and compassionate demeanor, Doak embodies the true essence of a well-rounded employee. Always lending a ear to listen to staff or students, Johnson Street Global Studies is fortunate to have an employee with such a contagious positive spirit.
